Technical Writer

General Description:
Technical Writers are responsible for the creation and maintenance of accurate documentation related to the use, management, installation and best practices for users of the D2L product suite.
Technical Writers will be assigned to projects, working with Technical Product Managers, Product Designers, and occasionally Designers. Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail are required in this position.

Location: Kitchener, Ontario
Responsibilities:
- Proofreading existing and new documents
- Maintains and edits existing documents
- Maintains consistency of the documents (internal and external)
- Follow document templates and stylistic guidelines (internal and external)
- Copy edit and assemble known issues and fixed issues lists.
- Supports the Level 2 Technical Writer
Work Experience and Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience in a professional documentation environment
- Proven ability to author and edit and to produce professional-quality documentation
- The successful candidate is a good communicator, displays professionalism and has well-developed interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of authoring and content management tools
Education Recommendations:
- Bachelor's degree
- Technical writing certificate or equivalent where the applicant does not have relevant work experience
